Family Workshop: Mental Health Awareness
September 2022
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, which makes it an excellent time to have challenging conversations about suicide and prevention. We know that adolescence can be a stressful and confusing time, given the challenges of social media, the pandemic, academic demands, as well as social dynamics, it is not surprising that teens are reporting an increased number of mental health issues. In fact, suicide is now the third leading cause of death in youth ages 15-24 statewide and nationally, according to the CDC.
Join Us!
On September 28, we are partnering with NAMI (National Association for the Mentally Ill) to provide a free family education workshop on how to recognize early indicators and help teens when they are in distress.

It is important to keep in mind that suicide is preventable. As a school district community, we are committed to teaming with families to support our students to address their mental health needs so they can return to health and wellness.
