Perfect AP Scores Place Wilcox Students in Elite Group

September 2022

Congratulations to Wilcox High School students Brian Wang and Vidhya Vishwanath, who performed so well on their Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science Principals exam that they fall into a very exclusive category.

On September 16, the College Board announced that Wang and Vishwanath were among an elite group of only 196 students in the world to earn every point possible on their AP Exam, receiving the maximum score on each portion. Advanced Placement Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. The students both received the top score of 5.

"We are excited to see our Computer Science program continue to grow at Wilcox,” said Principal Kristin Gonzalez. “We have outstanding educators leading our superstar students in their learning. We are very impressed with and proud of these two students and their performance on this exam. Way to go!"

Colleges and universities around the world receive AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, and/or consideration in the admission process. To learn more about AP, visit exploreap.org.

“These extraordinary academic accomplishments are likely a direct reflection of the top-quality education being offered at Wilcox High School,” said Head of the College Board AP Program Trevor Packer in the announcement to the school. “We applaud both your school's hard-working students and the devoted AP teachers who've so successfully engaged and challenged them with college-level material.”

Brian and Vidhya, SCUSD is extremely proud of your accomplishments, and we applaud you for your hard work and dedication.
